Day 16: A Forgiving Wife

James 5:16
Confess your faults one to another,
and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

A MARRIAGE IS BETWEEN TWO IMPERFECT PEOPLE BEING PERFECTED THROUGH THE FOUNDATION OF JESUS CHRIST. THE HOLY SPIRIT TEACHES YOU HOW TO ACCEPT THE IMPERFECTIONS OF EACH OTHER AS YOU CONTINUE TO FOCUS ON BECOMING A BETTER WIFE. LOVE COVERS A MULTITUDE OF SINS AND YOU HAVE TO CONSTANTLY FORGIVE ONE ANOTHER FOR BEING OFFENDED AND WRONGED THROUGHOUT YOUR FAMILY/MARRIAGE. CONFESS YOUR FAULTS ONE TO ANOTHER AND FORGIVE EACH OTHER AS GOD HAS FORGIVEN YOU. THE SAME GRACE THAT GOD HAS GIVEN YOU, SHOULD BE RECIPROCATED THROUGH YOU TO OTHERS. IF YOU ARE CONSTANTLY HOLDING A GRUDGE, CUTTING PEOPLE OFF, BITTER, RESENTFUL AND FEEL REJECTED, YOU WILL BE INEFFECTIVE IN PRAYER AND MANIFESTATION OF GODS PROMISES.

WIFE ASSESSMENT DO YOU HOLD GRUDGES? ARE YOU EASILY OFFENDED? DO YOU GET MAD AND STAY ANGRY? DOES YOUR LOVE COVER A MULTITUDE OF SINS? DO YOU CONSTANTLY BRING UP PAST OFFENSES? DO YOU NURSE YOUR WOUNDS? DO YOU SPEAK MORE ABOUT YOUR PAIN OR MORE ABOUT GODS POWER?

James 5:16 – I believe that the point of James is that when we pray for people God will hear our prayer and will help those for whom we pray for. Our prayer can actually help another person to avoid sin or to have his/her heart softened so that they can repent and be forgiven. To help one another to avoid sin. Be in a habit of confessing our sins to one another, but be careful who you do this with. Our prayers are powerful and effective.

DO YOU HOLD GRUDGES? No. I use to. there was a time I would never talk to anyone for years, even with family and friends. But I am glad the Lord helped me through this and delivered me from this.
ARE YOU EASILY OFFENDED? Yes I was. but now I am a good listener and teachable.
DO YOU GET MAD AND STAY ANGRY? I did at one point but I work on this through the process in striving to be Christlike.
DOES YOUR LOVE COVER A MULTITUDE OF SINS? Yes. I love my family and pray for them. also pray for my ex’s and my enemies.
DO YOU CONSTANTLY BRING UP PAST OFFENSES? No. not anymore, I learned that the past is the past and must move forward, let go.
DO YOU NURSE YOUR WOUNDS? No. I go through the process for healing.
DO YOU SPEAK MORE ABOUT YOUR PAIN OR MORE ABOUT GODS POWER? Gods power!! Always!! I give him all the GLORY!

In order to really love and do the will of God we must forgive and not hold grudges.. against ourselves and one another. Cutting people off is not always the answer. At times we need to talk it out and compromise for peace sake.

Marriage is Ministry, and Its going to take two ppl dedicated to God to be successful and conquor Marriage the Kingdom Way. It’s so not for ppl who are not ready to put the work in. I believe that God smiles on the couple who can say, I’m Sorry, Please Forgive Me, It was my fault. To be completely honest, I’ve been prideful in my marriage to the Lord, not repenting sooner than later, blaming the Lord for mistakes that I made etc. But I’ve grown so much… I’m nolonger just waiting on a change, I’m being the change that I want to see. This will help me in marriage because it keeps me in right standing with God and everything around me will have to shift when I’m in alignment. So, God.., Thank You for this revelation and help me to keep this concept at the forefront of my mind when my husband needs grace extended to him and when my flesh wants to rise up and do the complete opposite of what your word says. Thank You. Amen.
